SACO – The 101st Maine Amateur Golf Championship tees off Tuesday morning at Biddeford-Saco Country Club.
A field of 132 golfers from all over the state will be competing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic many safety protocols will be in place for this year’s tournament.
The cups will have a foam liner allowing the pins to stay in so golfers won’t have to touch the flag sticks.
The fans attending will be required to social distance as well.
“Being able to get out in fresh air and do it safely have some fun and watch some competition see a lot of these new young players come out and see some of the old guard is really awesome,” Biddeford-Saco Country Club head pro, Rick Altham, said.
