BANGOR – Husson University was the site once again for former New England Patriots players to hold their annual youth camp.
Thursday marked the second time the “Football for You” clinic has been held in Bangor, giving kids from ages nine to 14 the opportunity to learn from NFL veterans.
The event is one of several stops in a summer camp series put on by the Patriots Alumni, a standalone organization of former players. Last year’s inaugural Bangor visit set a record for participation with over 200 kids. One year later, that trend continued.
“We’re gaining traction. That’s for sure,” said Patriots Alumni president Pete Brock. “Just getting the word out in communities is difficult. I challenged parents and kids last year to bring a friend. Apparently they did, because we’re at 270 [participants] this year. I couldn’t be more excited.”
