ORONO – Outdoor and adventure sports are common hobbies in Maine, but even with all the hiking, water sports, and climbing opportunities, training in this area is limited.
That’s where Maine Bound enters the picture. The organization has been around since the late 1990s and is still a popular destination for students on the UMaine campus. Just next door to the Collins Center, Maine Bound houses an indoor rock climbing facility in addition to its several offerings in the Orono area.
Despite its location in the heart of campus, and the fact that it’s a branch of the school’s recreation department, Maine Bound isn’t limited just to students. Whether your interest is drawn to climbing or the water, statewide outdoor trips are available to anyone. Those at Maine Bound feel it’s a great way to have fun and to learn about yourself along the way.
