HUNGARY – In 2007, Troy Barnies was named Mr. Maine Basketball for his outstanding performance as a senior with the Edward Little Red Eddies. He would ultimately go from there to the University of Maine, where he would sustain himself as a quality America East hand who showed the potential to play professionally.
Not long after that, Barnies would find himself playing in Europe, and he’s been there ever since 2011. Now, it appears he’ll be there even longer.
Barnies announced on Twitter this week he will be returning to Atomerőmű SE in Hungary for his seventh season of professional ball. He averaged 10.3 points per game last season for the team, also adding five rebounds per contest across 47 games.
