ORONO – A lot has been made of Maine football’s defense ahead of Saturday’s matchup with No. 1 James Madison. But, the game will also feature the top two offenses in the CAA.
Redshirt freshman Chris Ferguson has been great for the Black Bears this season as he has helped spearhead Maine’s success on offense early in games this season.
But this James Madison squad is no joke. It’s the defending national champion for a reason after all – and showed Maine last year it has elite scoring ability Ferguson and company will have to match.
From the looks of it though, it doesn’t sound like he’s too worried about not being able to perform on the big stage.
“We’ll be ready for anything. We want to throw that ball right away, kind of just get a feel for the game. Go into a bye week with a win, it just gives us more confidence. Watch out,” Ferguson said.
