BANGOR – The 2017 Husson Hall of Fame class will be inducted in December, and the school announced its newest members Thursday afternoon.
The class will be made up of the 1970 men’s basketball team, three-sport athlete Caitlyn “Butters” Butterfield Dyer, tailback Justin Lindie, basketball and softball star Amanda Pomerleau Waters, golfer Corey Poulin, and former women’s cross country runner Angela Stauble Clark. All of them were nominated and approved by Husson’s Hall of Fame board, and will be welcomed at a reception Dec. 1.
Husson athletic director Frank Pergolizzi is a member of the committee, and noted its difficult to come to a consensus given everyone has different criteria for what constitutes a Hall of Famer. He said so long a nominee made an impact on the greater good, they belong in the conversation for induction.
“To me, I want to see someone that not only excels themselves, but also provided the force for their team to excel,” he said.
The ceremony will be at the Spectacular Events Center and Catering in Bangor at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $40.
