STATEWIDE – Class B North football was full of talent this year, and the best of the best were named Wednesday.
Messalonskee running back Austin Pelletier was named conference player of the year in his senior season, while Cony’s B.L. Lippert earned coach of the year honors.
Skowhegan quarterback Marcus Christopher alongside wide receivers Cam Barnes and Jon Bell made the first team on offense. Joining them are Pelletier and teammate Colin Kinney, Brewer running back Bryant Kiler, tight end Jacob McCluskey and offensive linemen Tyler Bean and Garrett Graham. Lawrence’s Isiah Schooler, Dominic Blaisdell and Tyler Larouche find themselves on the offensive side, alongside Mictchell MacFarland from Cony and Brunswick’s Elijah Gagnon.
Defensive ends Nic Mills (Cony) and McCluskey, defensive tackles Graham and Bean, linebackers Sam Dorval (Brunswick), Logan Leadbetter and Matthew Wozniak (Cony) and Alden Balboni (Messalonskee) make up the front two units on the defensive team. Cornerbacks Hunter Umel (Brewer) and Tyler Lewis (Messalonskee) alongside safeties Ethan Andrews (Mt. Blue) and Anthony Sousa (Cony) round out the defense. Kyle Burger from Messalonskee was named as a punter and place kicker, with Cony’s Jordan Roddy honored as a return man.
Skowhegan and Lawrence will play for the title Friday night.
