BANGOR – Husson football is set for yet another NCAA Tournament game this Saturday, and it picked up some accolades on the way.
Fifteen members of the program were honored by the ECFC for their accomplishments this season. Notably, running back John Smith was named Offensive Player of the Year, and head coach Gabby Price was named Coach of the Year. Alongside, defensive coordinator Grant Caserta was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
Smith, Cory Brandon, DJ Allen, Robenson Saintard, Brad Weston and Jacob Cameron were all named to the First Team as offensive selections. Additionally, Jean Gabrial, Quan Soyini, Luke Washburn, and Elvin Suazo Jr. were on the defensive First Team. Frank Curran and Tarik Smith found themselves on the Second Team.
The squad also had two Special Teams picks, with Soyini being named First Team as a returner, and Devin Pickett was on the Second Team as a kicker.
Husson will play Springfield College Saturday in the first round.
