SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For Husson football the expectations were clear heading into 2017.

After dominating the regular season once again the Eagles were able to hang on Saturday to beat No. 20 Springfield 23-21.
The Eagles held a 23-14 lead early in fourth quarter until Springfield’s Hunter Belzo broke free for a long touchdown run to pull within two.
The Pride had a chance late in the game to win it but quarterback Jake Eglintine was picked off by Quan Soyini, sealing the game for Husson.
John Smith led the way once again for the Eagles scoring two touchdowns. He now has 30 rushing scores this season, which is a program record.
The green and white advance to play No. 5 Delaware Valley in the second round.
