ORONO – It was senior day for Maine football on Saturday.
A chance for some of Maine’s most integral players to get a big win in front of the home crowd for the last time.
For 59:54 it looked like it was going to be a sweet ending to a bitter season career for the seniors.
Instead, Stony Brook proved the game isn’t over until the final whistle is blown.
With six seconds left Seawolves quarterback Joe Carbone heaved one down the field and into the outstretched hands of Harrison Jackson for the game-winning touchdown.
The Black Bears end the season at 4-6.
