BANGOR – Husson football running back John Smith had one of the greatest season’s in Division III football history, and was honored once more for his accomplishments Tuesday.
Smith was elected to the 2017 American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches’ All-American First Team, becoming the first player in Husson history to be honored with such. He was a four-time First Team All-Conference selection, and scored 31 touchdowns on the season.
Meanwhile, men’s basketball guard Raheem Anderson made program history of his own, scoring his 2,000th career point last Friday night against Green Mountain. Anderson was named ECAC DIII North Player of the Week for the accomplishment, following his selection as conference player of the week as well.
