ORONO – Though his days in Orono may be limited, Josh Mack picked up one of the highest honor any Maine Black Bears has accumulated in their time on-campus.
The Black Bears sophomore running back was named an Associated Press’ first team All-American for the FCS, becoming one of just a handful of Black Bears to ever receive such an honor. He is the 46th Maine football player to earn All-American status from the outlet.
Mack’s 2017 put him among the best running backs in the country at any level. His 1,335 yards led the country at the FCS level, and his nine scores were most in the Colonial Athletic Association.
The New York-native’s status with Maine is up in the air though, as a source indicated to ABC 7 and Fox 22 Monday he is planning to transfer next season.
