BANGOR – One of the missing pieces of the last few Husson men’s basketball teams has been a big man in the post, but it seems like the Eagles may be on their way to finding a sparring partner for sophomore forward Bruce St. Peter.
The Eagles received a commitment from Hampden Academy forward Ian McIntyre Thursday, as he will head to Bangor next year. McIntyre has established himself as a star with Hampden, serving as a crucial piece to the team’s undefeated regular season two years ago, and growing into a standout in his junior year. He averaged a double-double last season, and came into Friday night’s game against Brewer averaging 17 points and eight rebounds per game.
“We have had our eye on Ian since his sophomore year. Ian is a high character student athlete with a strong skill set, and we really like how hard he plays everyday” head coach Warren Caruso said in a release. “Ian will fit nicely with the guys we have on our roster. We see him having a very good career as an Eagle”.
