CORINTH – Class C girls basketball is deep this season. Once you look past favorite and No. 1 seed Houlton, it’s up for grabs.
Central girls basketball is hoping to make some noise down the stretch as it has been a victim of a weak schedule.
At 11-1 the Red Devils sit in eighth place, but they’re only five points out of the four seed.
Central has had to scrape the bottom of the heal points barrel this season as it has only played two top eight teams in Class C North. With some valuable heal points on the table for Central and the rest of Class C North, the Red Devils are putting extra emphasis on each game leading up to the tournament.
“All these teams that we’re playing need heal points because there’s not many in our bracket and so they’re going to want to beat us so we have to be on our game every game,” Red Devils center Emily Smith said.
