DURHAM, N.H. – Beat UNH. The motto hasn’t come to fruition for Maine men’s hockey this season as the Black Bears have skated to two overtime ties with the Wildcats.
It was the same old song and dance Wednesday, until the final minute of overtime.
Maine finally solved the enigma that has been UNH this season. Mitch Fossier scored the game-winner with just 20 seconds left in overtime.
The Black Bears erased a two-goal deficit in the third period thanks to tallies from Cedric Lacroix and Fossier. The win moves Maine into fourth place in the Hockey East standings with just three games left to play.
