BANGOR – One of Bangor’s most successful coaches of the past few years is set to take over on the gridiron.
Multiple sources tell ABC 7 and Fox 22 Bangor baseball head coach David Morris is set to be offered the vacant head football coach job imminently, possibly as soon as Tuesday morning. Should he accept, Morris would then need to be approved by the school board later in the week.
Morris confirmed to ABC 7 and Fox 22 he applied for the position, but noted he had not been offered as of yet.
The past several years has seen Morris experience a plethora of success on the diamond, bringing state championships to both Bangor High School and for the Coffee News Comrades of Legion baseball. He has previously spent time as an assistant coach on the varsity squad, and has also been involved in Bangor’s middle school program.
Once approved, Morris will replace Alan Mosca, who went 3-23 in three seasons with Bangor before leaving the position this offseason.
