ORONO – Just two days before it sends nine into the dome for pro day, the University of Maine football team appointed several new coaches.
With two offensive coordinators having left in one offseason, it was announced a few weeks back that special teams coordinator Nick Charlton would assume the new role. Replacing Charlton will be Jared Keyte, who previously spent two seasons working with Maine’s linebacking corps.
Joining Maine this season will be Dean Petzing from Ball State as a tight ends coach, along with Andrew Dresner as wide receivers coach.
“We are excited about the additions of Andrew and Dean to program,” head coach Joe Harasymiak said in a release. “They bring a wealth of experience to our program that will benefit us immediately. With Nick Charlton’s move to offensive coordinator, we are thrilled to have Keyte fill the void as special teams coordinator. Jared is a dedicated coach that will provide energy to that unit.”
