VINELAND, N.J. – The wait is over. Former Maine football offensive lineman Jamil Demby is now a Los Angeles Ram.
The Rams picked Demby with pick No. 192 in the sixth round. The former Black Bear was surrounded by friends and family when he got the call from Los Angeles. A moment once a dream, that has now become a reality.
“I believe the GM got on the phone and he just asked, “you ready to be a Ram” and you know it kinda settled into me that you know this is the call and then you know when he said Ii’m going to introduce you to your new head coach,” Demby said.
A familiar face will welcome Demby to his new home as former Maine offensive coordinator Liam Coen is now an assistant coach with the Rams. In meetings with Los Angeles, Demby says it praised his maturity and how well he was coached.
As he’s said throughout the entire process, Demby feels blessed to have been a Black Bear.
“When it comes to taking that next step in the NFL you know you’re prepared to get it on your own and get it out of the mud and you know I’m just so thankful for it,” Demby said.
