ORONO – Another piece has been added to the puzzle at the University of Maine, where the men’s basketball team continues its rebuild.
The Black Bears added 6-foot-9 forward Stephane Ingo when he signed his National Letter of Intent Friday. Ingo, the 18th-ranked prospect out of Canada this year, averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game for Gould Academy in Bethel this season.
“Stephane is a very athletic, long post with tremendous upside,” head coach Richard Barron said via a release. “He is a great weak side defender who blocks shots and rebounds. Steph has an emerging offensive game that includes great pick and roll and pick and pop actions as well as an excellent shooting touch.”
Ingo’s scholarship was made available after another determined he is leaving the player. It is unclear at this time who that player is.
