ORONO – No. 25 Maine field hockey scored early and often against Holy Cross on Friday beating the Crusaders 9-1 in its season opener.
Samantha Wagg scored three goals, but the day belonged to Old Town native Brooke Sulinski. The forward scored her first career goal, one that she’ll never forget.
“I wasn’t sure if I should receive it or go for the deflection but I’m glad that I did that because it went in. I really wanted to get one last year and I was close a few times. I really wanted to get one this game the first opening game so I was so excited,” Sulinski said.
