ORONO – Maine women’s hockey fans down in the Portland area will be happy to hear that they don’t have to make the two hour trek up north this weekend.
Maine is getting set for a Hockey East showdown with Merrimack in Falmouth this Friday. The blue and white have traditionally drawn well when they travel in state. The past two seasons Maine has traveled to Rockport and Presque Isle for games. Head coach Richard Reichenbach expects nothing short of a good crowd.
“We have, obviously we have a strong following up here but we also have a strong following in the Portland area. We have the Casco Bay youth hockey organization down there the programs out of Lewiston and Portland. So we’re really excited to play in Falmouth at the Family Ice Center,” Reichenbach said.
