LINCOLN – Cayden Spencer-Thompson will be attending the University of Louisville to be a part of their track program.
His coaches, friends and teammates; along with his mom and athletic director were on hand Wednesday afternoon.
You’ll still be able to catch him this winter on the track and on the court competing for Mattanawcook.
Both Spencer-Thompson and his mom spoke about his long standing dream to make it to the Olympics and this being the first step.
“You get the right people and everything and it just fits together..that’s what I think Louisville brings to the table and help me raise my talents above the collegiate level,” said Spencer-Thompson.
“I would love to see him go to the Olympics..When he was little [people would ask]..’what do you want to be when you grow up?’ most kids [would say]..’I want to be a fireman’..Cayden would say ‘I’m going to the Olympics’ at six..seven..eight years old,” said his mother Kelly Thompson.
