ORONO – Maine men’s hockey escaped Boston with a series split against Boston University this past weekend. The Black Bears are still trying to figure things out early on and have been kept afloat by their rock in net.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman was fantastic this weekend for the blue and white making 79 saves across Maine’s 3-2 loss and 3-1 win over BU.
Swayman has a solid .920 save percentage this season and has been called upon to make a big save in most of Maine’s games this season.
As Maine enters a big weekend series against a potent Quinnipiac offense. Maine knows their guy in between the pipes will once again be in the spotlight.
“He’s been great for us last year and this year to start for sure. He’s definitely a huge part of our team whenever there’s a breakdown he always seems to come up with a big save so no we’re definitely thankful and lucky to have him on our side for sure,” defenseman Rob Michel said.
