ORONO – The Black Bears left for Washington on Thursday, where they’ll have an FCS semifinal matchup waiting on them.
The team departed from Orono just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon.
Everyone had their pillows, headphones and movies in tow.
The guys were all in a good mood, but no one acting too crazy as this is considered a “business trip.”
“Same thing I do everything different every week..I’m not really a big [creature of habit]..try to stay away from that to keep everything fresh, everything new..,” said quarterback Chris Ferguson.
The team got a police escort out to Bangor International for their chartered flight.
There was a host of fans and former players waiting on them to see them off.
Guys were still studying up on film even in the terminal, but everyone was hoping for a good seat one the plane, especially the lineman.
“On the ride home last week I got to sit up in the front in first class..that was nice..it was a nice change..but usually I’m one of the first guys on the plane..usually try and grab an exit row which has more leg room..so that’s usually the move for us..,” said senior offensive lineman Cody Levy.
