BANGOR – Twenty different schools will play thirteen games Thursday and Friday at the Cross Insurance Center as the high school basketball season starts back up after the holiday break.
Past northern regional and state champions such as the George Stevens boys, Greenville boys, Dexter girls, and Houlton girls will all take the floor December 26-27.
Three girls games expected to be good contests are: Washburn vs. Fort Fairfield, Schenck vs. Dexter, and Searsport vs. Central.
On the boys side, good games are expected out of: Brewer vs. Cony, Central vs. Lee, and Mattanawcook vs. Houlton.
The Lynx/Shires matchup is expected to be an especially good matchup, as Mattanawcook comes in undefeated and Houlton comes in with only one blemish on their record against Class B Caribou.
Houlton has been a high scoring offense this season, but Mattanawcook has the ability to match their offensive production behind Cayden Spencer-Thompson.
Competition starts on December 27 at 10 AM, with Penquis boys taking on Greenville.
