AUGUSTA – All the state champions, except Sumner, are repeating winners.
Class D was decided by just 2.5 points, with Central Aroostook winning its seventh straight state championship, over Penobscot Valley.
The Sumner Tigers won their first Class C cheer state championship since 2010, inspired by the passing of former cheerleader, and assistant coach, Whitney Doughty, who passed away in May 2019 from an ATV accident.
Hermon won its tenth Class B state title in the past thirteen years, and its fourth in a row, by just 0.8 points over Ellsworth.
Biddeford hit a clean routine in the Class A state final, but benefited from drops in the Lewiston and Bangor routines, for its second straight state championship.
