WATERVILLE – The school announced its first positive test for coronavirus Thursday, in a statement to the Colby College staff and students.
School leaders shared the news that the unnamed athletics staff member that tested positive for coronavirus has been following Maine CDC guidelines by self-quarantining, and alerting those the individual may have come in contact with, according to a statement posted to the Colby College website.
Colby’s athletic conference, NESCAC, canceled all spring sports activities after the Mules’ March 12 baseball game against Bowdoin. Before that, the men’s basketball team played in the NCAA Division III national championship tournament against Christopher Newport University in Hoboken, New Jersey on March 5.
There has been no confirmation of the department the individual works in within the athletics department.
