PORTLAND – Thursday morning players from the Maine Red Claws and Boston Celtics gave back ahead of their season opener this weekend.
Tacko Fall, Yante Maten and Curtis Washington volunteered at the Partners for World Health in Portland.
They, along with other volunteers, loaded up a container truck with medical supplies, which are headed to help those in need in Senegal.
Fall was born in Senegal and says this is a great way to give back to his home country.
“They need it. They need it because obviously, they’re not as fortunate as many other areas in the world. It’s up to us, some of us who made it out an help out,” Fall said.
This is the 11th container Partners for World Health has sent abroad in 2019.
Each one holds 15,000 pounds of supplies.
