ORONO –The UMaine women’s basketball team got back to its winning ways over the weekend, taking a 69-52 victory on the road against Hartford.
With a three game home stretch in front of them, the Black Bears need strong performances from junior Kelly Fogarty beyond the arc.
Fogarty is leading the team in three point shooting percentage through 23 games, highlighted by performances of 9-12 shooting against Husson in December, and 7-11 shooting against Hartford back in January.
Her junior season is on pace to be her best shooting season since she came to UMaine, scoring 36.9% percent of her shots per distance.
With her increased role in the starting lineup, her confidence continues to grow. “With both my shot, and being a leader on the floor, I think all of us have stepped up in to finding our role, and I think I’ve done that over the past few months and will continue to get better and hopefully finish out this conference [schedule] strong,” said Fogarty.
