HERMON – The weekend wet weather isn’t putting a damper on the positive news for golf and disc golf courses around the state.
Friday, courses will be able to open under Stage 1 of Gov. Janet Mills’ four stage plan to restart Maine’s economy. However, there will be restrictions.
Hermon Meadow is preparing to safely open. Owner, John Snyer, says only the golf course will be open, no driving range, putting green, clubhouse access, food or drink sales will be available.
Snyer is also asking customers to make tee times and pay ahead. It’s a day the club has been waiting all month for.
“We were just waiting for the governor to give us the okay and finally last night yesterday evening we got the checklist of what we needed to do and I immediately got online and made the pledge to stand up for that and take care of that checklist,” Snyer said.
