STATEWIDE – For many Maine golfers, Friday marked their first time on the links.
The Maine State Golf Association is excited to see golf back, with restrictions, but is also looking forward to its major golf events.
The Maine Amateur championship is set for July 7 and 8 at Biddeford Saco Country Club and the Charlie’s Maine open is scheduled for June 30 through July 1.
Officials are trying to figure out the best way both events can still happen, but in a safe way
“This opening obviously puts us in a different position than if we were a June 1st opening. So you know we would like to be able to hold those events and we might have to make sure that we have a whole set of new restrictions when it comes to the major events,“ Maine State Golf Association Executive Director, Brian Bickford, said.
