ORONO – Maine men’s hockey has been on quite a roll in the second half.
The Black Bears are 6-1-1 and have put themselves in position to finish near the top of Hockey East. A big part of their success has come from senior forward Tim Doherty.
The Rhode Island native scored 12 points during January, good enough to earn him Hockey East Player of the Month honors. He had five multi-point games during the month, a big increase in production from years past.
“You know just worked on scoring goals it sound really simple but bad angle shots finishing in front of the net just finding ways to put it home and I found more success than last year so it’s really paying off,” Doherty said.
