AUGUSTA – The guidelines mostly pertain to ski lodge operations, food and beverage services, and rentals.
On Tuesday, Governor Mills’ administration released its COVID-19 prevention checklist for indoor activities at Maine ski areas.
With wide terrain, open air, and temperatures that already promote masks and gloves, the nature of the sport plays into many of the general COVID precautions that have already been put in place throughout the country.
The latest guidelines pertain mainly to lodge areas and lift lines.
Some of the protocols that will be in place in ski areas this season include: six-foot distance between people outside of party, require face coverings (gaiters/buffs are acceptable if double the normal width), and self-grouping at lift lines. Indoor gathering limits will be enforced in public areas.
