LEWISTON – New England Fights announced Friday it has postponed NEF 43 to June 13th due to concern over the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Thank you all for your patience and continued support as we continue to monitor and adjust to this unprecedented situation. We wish all of our fans, fighters, staff, and friends good health and safety at this difficult time,” NEF owners Nick DiSalvo and Matt Peterson said in a press release.
The event was scheduled to take place April 18th at the Collins Center for the Arts at the University of Maine. The rescheduled date will still take place at the Collins Center, doors open at 6 p.m. and first fight will be at 7 p.m.
NEF 43s fight card was stacked with local fighters including Young’s MMA fighters Fred Lear, Glory Watson, and Aaron Lacey. Titan Athletic’s, Bruce Boyington, was also on the NEF 43 card.
“Honestly my initial feeling was kind of relief that I honestly didn’t have to worry about it because there was so much life stuff that takes precedence over a fight,” Lacey said.
Tickets purchased for the April 18th date will be honored at the door on June 13. NEF is asking fans who purchased tickets through fighters and can’t attend the fight to reach out to the fighters.
The promotion is also asking fans who purchased tickets through the CCA box office to email the box office at [email protected] or call (207) 581-1755 for refunds. the box office will take refund requests until March 27 at 5 p.m.
