BANGOR – There will be no legion baseball this summer, but coaches around the state continue to explore alternate ways to hold an independent season.
But, one league still plans to play.
The CMG Financial wooden bat league is still on, for right now. In fact, coaches are hoping to start the season after July 5th.
This will mark the fourth season for the developmental league which traditionally has been designed for underclassmen, but due to the pandemic seniors can participate this summer as well.
Of course if Gov. Mills’ four stage plan changes in any way that could affect whether or not the teams will get to play.
“We’re hoping everything points us in that direction obviously with the MPA announcing that hands off period is extended that sends us into July 5th so we are hoping to get on the field July 5th for the CMG Financial wood bat league,” Falmouth baseball coach Mike D’Andrea said.
