ORONO – The University of Maine announced its nominees Wednesday for the conference’s yearly honors.
Outgoing seniors hockey captain Mitch Fossier and swimming and diving captain Sabrina Nuttall have been nominated for the conference award.
Fossier is known as being a 100-point scorer for UMaine men’s hockey, and known for his community work at the Old Town/Orono YMCA and serving as a high school church group counselor in his hometown of Alpharetta, Georgia.
Nuttall is a recently commissioned second lieutenant in the Marine Corps after completing Officer Candidate School last summer..
Nominees will be cut down to three finalists for each award, with the winners being announced later in the summer.
