BANGOR – The Eastern Maine Cash Coalition is looking for volunteers to help people prepare their taxes.
They’re needed in several local counties to help low and moderate income people complete their taxes.
The Cash Coalition prepares the taxes for free and no experience is required.
Dan Hinman, United Way of Eastern Maine, said “The volunteers we need, you don’t need any experience. If you do want to help individuals prepare taxes, we provide training through the AARP and the IRS.”
The Cash Coalition volunteers helps generate more than $4 million in refunds last year.
They also need volunteers for other duties in the various counties including greeters, IT support, marketing and publicity.
