BANGOR – It’s a great opportunity to get your hands on a new bicycle.
The Bangor Police Department will hold its annual bike auction on Saturday at the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department’s headquarters on Main Street. The bikes being put up for bid all have been turned in or found abandoned over the past year and will now be sold after no one came to claim them.
About 50 bikes in various conditions will be available to the highest bidders. Potential bidders can get a sneak peek from about 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., when the auction begins. All the money raised will help boost the department’s community relations efforts.
Craig Colson discussed the details with Officer Dan Gastia.
