BANGOR – Cooling off during these dog days of summer can be as easy as taking a trip to the local swimming pool. But for the less fortunate, the climbing temperatures can be very dangerous.
That’s why the folks at Manna Ministries are once again collecting bottles of water.
They see overheated people coming into the soup kitchen and food pantry all the time and that’s why they’re asking for help.
Bill Rae, Executive Director of Manna, is asking for help.
“We need your help. We need you to bring a bottle of water, a six pack, a twelve pack, a case or a pallet, whatever you can do. It’s not expensive, but it really matters to these people out walking around, especially the elderly.”
Rae says they’ve already given out 150 bottles of water in the last two weeks.
You can help by dropping off donations of water at Manna Headquarters at 629 Main Street in Bangor.
