GREENVILLE – A former forest ranger pleads guilty to stealing thousands of dollars from the Greenville Fire Department.
54-year-old Bruce Reed of Greenville Junction was sentenced to 2 years in prison with all but 45-days suspended on Monday.
District Attorney Chris Almy says Reed was employed as a forest ranger at the time of the theft, and also worked as the treasurer for the Firefighters Association.
The money went missing over a five-year period, starting in 2009. Reed also paid 11-thousand dollars in restitution at his sentencing.
