STATEWIDE – The Convoy of Hope is coming to Maine this month. But before it arrives organizers could use a helping hand.
The national group works to supply groceries to those in need and on September 19th will send out three tractor trailer trucks filled with food to 8 different cities and towns throughout the state, including Bangor, Old Town and Belfast.
A partnership with local organizations has spurred efforts on, and one week ahead of the convoy hitting the road volunteers are needed on what they’re calling the “Day of Hope” for those who want to come help pack the trucks.
It runs from 9am to 3pm on the Bangor waterfront and will offer a wide variety of free goods and services including a job placement tent, free haircuts and dental work. A kids zone and much more.
That will be next Saturday the 12th.
