AUGUSTA – The report on governor Paul LePage’s threat to pull funding from a school that was set to hire Maine’s Democratic House Speaker, is set to be released today.
The Office of Program Evaluation and Government Accountability conducted the investigation. They will met this morning around 9.
Earlier this year, LePage threatened to pull funding from Good Will-Hinckley’s School if it were to hire House Speaker Mark Eves as president.
The school did not hire him because of the possibility of losing thousands of dollars.
In July, the oversight committee voted unanimously to initiate an investigation. The report is expected to layout facts surrounding the funding threat only.
It will present its report to the legislature’s government oversight committee, which directs OPEGA’s activities.
