BANGOR – There are about 150 vacant buildings in Bangor many of which are raising concerns from neighbors.
308 Hammond Street is one of those structures. Vacant homes can be magnets for trespassers and squatters. People can often gain entry even after buildings have been boarded. The home on Hammond Street is owned by Wells Fargo, meaning Bangor must contact the property owner before taking action.
“We do the best that we can when someone notifies us that a property has been broken back into or that it’s no longer securely boarded up to first make contact with the property owner and try to get them to fix the deficiency themselves.” Tanya Emery, Director of Community and Economic Development
A complaint was sent to the city in the beginning of September. That has been referred to public works.
