ORRINGTON – Orrington’s animal control officer has resigned after being charged with animal cruelty.
Carla Damon held the job for many years. She was recently issued a summons for animal cruelty.
John Bott, director of communications of the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry, says it was due to the condition of three goats in her possession earlier this month.
We’ve reached out to Damon for comment but we have not heard back.
She’s scheduled to appear in court on October 15th.
The town of Orrington is currently searching for her replacement.
