NATIONWIDE – So bad news for anyone looking to buy L.L. Bean’s signature boot for the up-coming winter season.
At least 100-thousand pairs of the leather and rubber handmade boots are on back-order.
The company recently hired 100 additional workers to make boots specifically in Maine instead of outsourcing, however, they say just can’t keep up with the over-whelming demand.
L.L Bean sold around more than 400-thousand pairs of boots last year, making it one of the most popular snow boots in the country.
Some of the most popular brands are on back order until November, making it very difficult for customers to get snow boots for the winter season. Even with the delay in shoe making, they expect to sell over 500-thousand pairs.
