Good Deeds for God is an organization created by 12 year-old Merissa to help those in need. Her goal? Collect 200 socks by the beginning of December, and she has already received over 175. These socks have come from as far as Boston.
Merissa created her organization when she started a Facebook page and her friends and family began to share it. She is an actress at The Next Generation Theater in Brewer, and has set up a drop box for socks, which picks up every Wednesday. All of the donations will go to The Hope House, where she has served dinner to the homeless, and will be helping in the 5k this upcoming weekend. She will be receiving a certificate from The Hope House in honor of all her hard work. In the future, she hopes to collect other items in order to help out the homeless.
