ELLSWORTH – Three Connecticut men were arrested late last night at an Ellsworth motel and police say they were here to sell oxycodone.
39-year-old Carlos Pemberton along with 22-year-old Jose Maisonet Jr. and 33-year-old Luis Hernandez – all of Waterbury Connecticut are charged with trafficking oxycodone. The arrests are part of a drug investigation underway for the past several months.
Elllsworth police chief Chris Coleman and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency director Roy Mckinney say they continue to be alarmed at the number of out-of-state traffickers coming to Maine.
Investigators searched a room at the motel and seized 140 oxycodone pills with a street value of $6,000. In addition police found the men in possession of $14,000 cash.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bar Harbor Police Department and the Brewer Police Department assisted in the investigation.
