ORONO – Residents are asked to have their leaves and brush curbside by Monday, November 2nd. Materials placed curbside after this date may not be picked up. Public Works will pick up leaves and brush Monday through Friday. Please help to make this process more efficient, Public Works will only pass though each neighborhood one time.
Requirements: Brush should not be larger than 6 inches in diameter and cut to lengths no shorter than 4 feet if possible. No small chunks of fire wood or construction material will be picked up. Excessively large piles will not be picked up (Acceptable piles are approximately 12’x6’ or smaller). Please remember to put only leaves in bags. If bags contain other items they will not be picked up, please no trash and other debris.

Leaves & Brush Accepted at the Landfill
If you miss the pickup, the Town of Orono now accepts leaves and brush at the landfill at no charge. Residents must obtain a free permit at the Town Office to haul brush and bagged leaves to the landfill during regular operating hours. Materials must be dumped in the designated area as directed by Public Works staff. No contaminated materials will be accepted. Contact Public Works or the Town Office with any questions.
