Governor Lepage is hoping Maine hunters will keep the less fortunate in mind during this years season.
He’s asking them to consider donating all or a portion of their harvest to the Hunters for the Hungry Program.
It provides meat to soup kitchens, homeless shelters and others in need throughout the state.
Thousands of nutritious meals have been provided since the program was launched in 1996.
The program accepts donations of bear, deer and moose.
