BANGOR – A housing development new to The Queen City put it’s own unique spin on a ribbon cutting ceremony today.
Swan Village is now officially open for business. The energy efficient communal living complex is named after 103-year old Clara Swan, a former Husson hoops standout, among many other things.
Clara and developer Emily Ellis, a member of the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, marked the occasion by slam dunking a ball. Cutting the ribbon in the process.
“When you are going to have a housing complex is such close proximity to Husson, and being a former basketball player I think Clara swan, She’s a gamer.” Emily Ellis, Developer, Swan Village
“It’s immense really…it feels great.” Clara Swan; Guest of Honor
Swan Village already has 5 units occupied, with three more currently open. Ellis says that even more will be move in ready in the next few months.
